Can you spare $20 to help the rescued horses of Skanda?

This summer, the large pasture fence will be replaced. Our incredible team of volunteers is already hard at work pulling up the old, 40+ year fence, and finding nearly all the posts are rotted and need replacing. We will need 110 posts total.

Your donation of $20 will buy one 3-hole, pressure-treated split rail post that will build Skanda’s fence and last another 40 years or more.

And to show our thanks, we will engrave your name — or the name of a beloved person or pet — on the fence as a tribute.

Before they were rescued, the horses who now live at Skanda had suffered horrible abuse and neglect.

Some were left alone, abandoned, without food, water or shelter.

Others were hit repeatedly on their faces and bodies.

Others were starved. Some were starved in utero.

Now, they are at Skanda, where they are supported to leave those horrors behind, emerge as who they really are, and live a life of choices, and of freedom and joy.

Having a large pasture to run in together is so important to their sense of wellbeing. There is nothing a horse loves more than to run free in a large field with their herd.

Can you help us give this to the horses by helping Skanda rebuild its large pasture fence?
